Our Purpose & Mission

Our Purpose: We exist to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
Psalm 37:4, 43:4, 86:12, 100:2; Matthew 5:16; 1 Corinthians 6:20, 10:31, Philippians 4:4
Our Mission: To make faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who treasure Him above all things.
Matthew 13:44, 28:18-20; Luke 14:25-33, 18:18-30, 19:1-10; Philippians 1:20-21, 3:7-9
As a fellowship of Christ followers, we will seek to honor and please God by fulfilling His revealed will for His body:
WORSHIP
We will seek to individually and corporately worship God in spirit and in truth.
See Psalm 29:2, 149:1; Isaiah 61:10; Luke 4:8; John 4:23-24; Romans 12:1
~ e.g. We will daily seek to know God better through His Word, discover and contemplate His attributes, and regard Him as holy and full of wonder.
~ e.g. As the children of God, we shall corporately gather on the Lord’s Day to meet with the Lord of glory–seeking His face and responding appropriately to His revelation.
~ e.g. We will humble ourselves beneath the mighty hand of God and seek His mercy and favor.
~ e.g. We shall partake of the Lord’s Supper and remember what Jesus accomplished on our behalf through His sinless life and sacrificial death.
~ e.g. We shall lift our voices often to honor and magnify our Savior, and we shall seek to be satisfied with God in Christ Jesus.
DISCIPLESHIP
We will seek to grow up in our salvation, edify and encourage one another in Christ, and help each other progress in our faith and joy in God.
See Ephesians 4:11-16; Philippians 1:25; 1 Thessalonians 5:11; 1 Peter 2:2
~ e.g. We will read, study, and meditate on the Scriptures day and night in order to renew our minds and live lives which bring glory to God.
~ e.g. We shall seek to speak or write words of encouragement to fellow believers as a way of encouraging them in their spiritual journey.
~ e.g. We will guard against harsh judgments and criticisms, but rather seek to build-up our brothers and sisters in Christ.
~ e.g. We shall-with great humility and caution–lovingly confront a professing believer whose attitudes or actions reflect gross disobedience to the will of God.
~ e.g. As children of God, we shall seek to imitate our Father by extending mercy and grace to each other, forgiving one another, and fervently loving the brethren.
EVANGELISM
We will seek to obey the Great Commission: lovingly communicating the gospel to non-Christians and entreating them to turn from their sins and trust in the Person and saving work of Jesus Christ.
See Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 10:9-15; Colossians 4:2-6
~ e.g. We shall seek to develop loving relationships with those who have yet to trust in Christ.
~ e.g. We will pray and look for opportunities to winsomely communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ to those we know and care about.
~ e.g. We shall pray for our friends and loved ones who are not yet Christians–asking God to work in their lives so that they might both hear the gospel and respond in faith and repentance.
~ e.g. We shall willingly sacrifice and give of our resources in order to ensure that the gospel will be proclaimed throughout the world.
